If you are currently a NABSSAR member and your sheep are already registered in NABSSAR REGISTRY, and if you have any questions regarding your membership or your registrations please contact : NABSSAR PO Box 51 222 Main St Milo, IA 50166 Telephone: 641-942-6402 Fax: 641-942-6502 For those wishing to join NABSSAR as NEW MEMBERS: Complete & Print the NABSSAR Application for Membership for New Members For members wishing to RENEW their NABSSAR yearly membership: Complete & Print the Membership Yearly Renewal Form MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES When joining the Association, along with the submittal of fees, you are agreeing to the Terms of Membership, Articles of Incorporation & Bylaws, the Addendum, the Code of Ethics, and our Handbook. Yearly Memberships are from January 1 through December 31 of each year. Memberships are renewable each year by January 1st. Yearly Membership renewals received after January 31st will incur a $5.00 late fee, with the exception of Lifetime memberships which are paid once. Memberships are not prorated. If a person joins in October membership fees are again due by January 1st for the following year. Applying for membership is as easy as choosing which category fits your circumstances. Single memberships are one person memberships. Dual memberships are for two people. Family memberships are for two adults and juniors. And our NEW Junior Multiple is for more than one Junior under one membership number. NABSSAR offers reduced membership fees for Junior members. The pricing is either $5.00 per Junior if part of a Family membership or $15.00 per Junior for their own membership. Some fairs rules require sheep to be registered only in the name of the person exhibiting the sheep and some shows allow for multiple owners. If a Junior member needs a sheep registered in their name only for showing or because they want to solely own their sheep, they should apply for their own membership number by choosing a Junior Single membership. It may be helpful to speak with your 4H or FFA leader to help decide which of our membership options would be best for your Junior member. For your convenience all of our forms are now PDF fillable. Complete & Print the NABSSAR New Member Application Mail to: NABSSAR, PO Box 51, 222 Main St., Milo, IA 50166 FARM NAMES: Once you have registered your farm name, it is used in the naming of your flock, and the one time fee of $10.00 should be sent in with your new member application. Farm names are important in naming your sheep. When anyone reads a pedigree, when they see the sheep's name, they know what farm that sheep originated at by reading the first part of the name, which is always your registered farm name. Farms names may be your last name if you do not have a farm name. Keep in mind when choosing your farm name, our registry's database is only capable of 27 characters. If you have a longer farm name, it will have to be shortened when added to the name you give your sheep on the Certificate of Registry. Example of naming sheep:(Farm name first)(tag number second)(sheep name third) Example: McDonalds 847 Susie The naming of sheep is acceptable along with their ear tag numbers, and may not infringe on another members identifier or protected name and should differ by one letter. Farm names will appear on the Certificate of Registry provided flock registration is applied for and proper fees sent in with membership application. If you are registering your flock for the first time and have lambs without registration but have the lambs dam and sire previously registered with another registry — please click here, to register your dam and sire first and send in the lamb's application after receiving your new registration for your dam and sire. Please include the Work Order and Fee Schedule with all transactions. Fee Schedule: A. Membership: *See below for more detailed information for each Membership category.
B. Registrations: Please note you must be a NABSSAR member to register sheep. 1. Lambs under one year old: $8.00 2. Sheep over one year of age: $10.00 3. Open Registry Application: $18.00 C. Transfers: Please note you must be a NABSSAR member to transfer sheep $8.00 D. Duplicate Certificate: $ 3.00 E. Farm or Flock Name: (REQUIRED FOR ALL NEW MEMBERS) There is a one-time fee of $10.00 to do so. This farm or ranch name will be the prefix name of all the sheep you register. If you do not have a farm or ranch name, you may use your last name as your farm or ranch name. (Keep in mind when choosing your name, our registry's database is only capable of 27 characters when naming your sheep. So if you have a long farm or ranch name, it will have to be shortened when added to the name you give your sheep. F. Website Breeder Listing: To add your PERSONAL WEBSITE LINK to a our member listing on our Members List page, the cost is $10.00 yearly. Your website must promote NABSSAR BABYDOLL Southdown Sheep, BABYDOLL Southdown related services, and/or BABYDOLL Southdown items. G. Rush Fee $5.00 *Adult Single: Any person over the age of 21. The cost is $20.00 for the entire year. An Adult Single member has one (1) vote in the Association. The Adult Single will have their own membership number and only their name will appear on the Certificate of Registry issued for their sheep. They “own” the sheep and any lambs born. Adult Dual: Any two domestic partners over the age of 21 (this is not for business partners unless the business partner is the domestic partner). The cost is $30.00 for the year. The Adult Dual members each get one (1) vote, for a total of two (2), in the Association. Both members will have the same membership number and they will both be listed on the Certificate of Registry issued for their sheep. Both members “own” the sheep and any lambs born. Family: One or two domestic partners over the age of 21 (this is not for business partners unless the business partner is the domestic partner). The cost is $30.00 for the year. In addition, any number of Junior family members can be added to this membership for an additional $5.00 per Junior each year. This membership allows one (1) vote per adult, with a maximum of two (2) votes in the Association. All Family members will have the same membership number and they will all be listed on the Certificate of Registry issued for their sheep. All members “own” the sheep and any lambs born. Junior Single: One Junior under the age of 18. The cost is $15.00 for the year. The Junior member is not allowed to vote or hold office in the Association. The Junior will have their own membership number and only their name will appear on the Certificate of Registry issued for their sheep and any lambs born. Junior Multiple: Two or more Juniors from the same family under the age of 18. The cost is $15.00 per Junior for the year. The Junior members are not allowed to vote or hold office in the Association. All of the Junior Multiple members will have the same membership number and they will all be listed on the Certificate of Registry issued for their sheep. All of the members “own” the sheep and any lambs born. Lifetime Adult Single: Same as the Adult Single, except the membership is for life and the cost is $300.00 for their lifetime. Lifetime Adult Dual: Same as the Adult Dual membership, except the membership is for life and the cost is $450.00 for their lifetime. |
